![]() Even with Reload coming early next year it's still not completely irrelevant thanks to the female protagonist, some might not be able or simply might not want to play the same game twice with a different protagonist but if you have the ability and desire, it's worth playing Portable before Reload comes out to experience the female protagonist.Ģ6h 1m ProgressIn sum: I played 22 hours of Persona 3 Portable. It's not a perfect game, but no game is perfect, and considering its age, P3P is a solid game. The port itself isn't great quality-wise either, with some audio issues and lack of overall enhancements like the P4G port. The story and characters didn't have as much of an impact on me as P4 did, but that game changed my life so it's hard for that to happen again. The gameplay hasn't aged perfectly but it's still thoroughly enjoyable for many of the same reasons as P4 and P5, and the story is pretty much just as good as everyone says, although it doesn't have as much of an emotional punch to it with the visual novel style of Portable. Abra que esperar un Persona 3 FES ReloadĦ7h 40m PlayedDespite the general consensus, this is personally the weakest of the modern Persona games for me. A game with some big flaws, but also big successes. Hurt even more, after I watched the movies. Died a bit on the inside, when I realized MC/Makoto forced himself to stay alive just long enough to see the group's promise to reunite on Graduation Day through to the end. Explored things like grief, nihilism, letting go and moving on, and ultimately living life to the fullest, all from a high schooler's perspective. The main plot revolving around death and all of its themes was done fantastically. That being said, this story had me guessing how the plot would unwind, and I liked the twist behind Pharos. Only thing I didn't like is how I didn't really care some of the later characters that joined because they join in such rapid succession. Social links were a bit of a mixed bag for worldbuilding, and Akinari's is the one that really stood out to me with how it ended up paralleling Makoto/MC. I know some people dislike Yukari, but I think she's the canon choice because of DLC/The Answer and the fact her tarot is "The Lovers." In fact, I'm of the opinion that all of the "Lovers" girls are canon, but that's another debate. Hell, this game managed to spin a robot waifu to not only a viable romance candidate, but potentially canon LOL. I got invested in most of the characters. Most of the main characters go through an arc and change significantly over the course of the game. FES is probably the better version of this game. ![]() ![]() Also, this game removes a lot of cutscenes, which is kinda sad. Just some small QoL stuff that made me dislike the loop. Elizabeth's sidequests were also kinda annoying after a while. Tartarus was a terrible idea honestly, and the gameplay loop felt repetitive and stale after the first few months in-game. This game really explored a "school simulation" type game, or even a visual novel style while incorporating JRPG combat and gameplay. A very different style of JRPG, yet also very familiar in many aspects.
